About Bonish Photo

Some things are meant to be remembered and photographs are one of the best ways to capture that memory. Photography is one of those things that has been in the Bonish family for many generations.

From a very young age I was always drawn to the family photo albums that my mother kept in abundance around our house. I guess it was bred into me and I must be following the footsteps of my Grand Father whom followed those same steps of his Father; both ran a successful photography studio in downtown Detroit, Michigan. My Uncle Leo Bonish is still in the business today running commercial photography out of Fowlerville Michigan.

After a family of my own all the while shooting untold numbers of birthdays, holidays and special events with my wife Cindy, the camera has become more of a fine-tuned tool, than the once intimidating piece it was years ago.

After years of trying to pose the subject just right, we’ve found the candid-photo in its natural lighting is the shot that is sought after and remembered most. Although posed shots are sometimes needed, ‘caught in the moment’ are the most real and remembered ones that most photographers ignore.

We are willing to use a studio when needed, but we feel that nature and outdoor backdrops warm a picture and draw you to look deeper into the photo.

I started photography at an early age and have moved from 35mm film cameras to following the digital aspect since it was started.

Working with some top fashion models in South Florida, I learned what magazines look for in a photo and have used that to create some amazing photographs which have appeared in numerous publications.

In this technological age, Digital has surpassed film and will allow your memories to be shared much easier than the older 35mm format. With everything now being shot digital, the end result is very high quality images that can be viewed in many different formats.

From slide-shows to DVD’s set to music to low-resolution J-pegs for emailing to family and friends; the end results are limitless.
